After graduating from the University of Sydney, Peter worked with WAPET in Western Australia and Continental Oil in New Guinea, before transfer to the USA (1970-73) and work on Conoco projects in Africa, Asia and Australia. He managed Whitestone Petroleum operations in Ethiopia and Kenya (1973-77) and Australia (1978-80).
In 1980 he formed P & R Geological Consultants Pty Ltd with geologist wife Robyn, and has worked since as an exploration and management consultant for projects in Australia, Africa, Oceania and SE Asia.
Peter has edited several books on Western Australian geology and is the author of numerous articles on geology and petroleum exploration in Australia and Ethiopia, as well as environmental and Aboriginal issues.
A member of AAPG, GSL, PESA, and ASEG, he was awarded the APPEA Lewis G. Weeks medal in 2010 for contributions to the Australian industry
Peter is involved with geological and historical research projects in Ethiopia, East Africa and Australia.
